## What to know before you start

What is the difference between UX and UI?

UX is how something works: the steps, the logic and the flow. UI is how it looks and feels on screen. I do both, because each depends on the other.

Do you need access to real users?

It helps a great deal. Even five short sessions with real customers reveal most problems. Where that is not possible, I use analytics and expert review.

Can you improve an app that is already built?

Yes. I often redesign specific journeys, such as sign-up or checkout, without rebuilding the whole product.

Can developers build your designs as they are?

Yes. I build websites myself, so the designs respect real constraints and come with clear specifications for whoever builds them.
