I led the technical delivery of a bilingual WordPress platform for Rogers’ Presence Magazine, working with design and development collaborators to bring its issues and articles online.
Context and brief
Rogers wanted to make Presence Magazine available digitally while reducing its reliance on printed copies. The website needed to retain the publication’s visual identity and support both issue-based browsing and individual articles in English and French.
The project had a tight delivery schedule, with content arriving alongside development. An initial premium theme also became difficult to adapt as requirements evolved. The team needed a more flexible foundation without losing the agreed design direction.
My contribution
Through Fourlines Design Studio, I coordinated technical delivery and worked alongside Kevin on development. Xavier handled the UI design, and we collaborated with Rogers’ Marketing and Communication team on content and requirements.
Kevin and I replaced the restrictive theme with a custom build. This gave us control over the templates and publishing structure, while allowing us to adapt the design to the practical needs of the magazine.
What was delivered
The platform combined an issue archive, dedicated issue pages, article search, and a flipbook reading option. A custom homepage banner used metadata from uploaded issue PDFs, connecting the publication’s existing files to its digital presentation.
The delivered website gave Rogers a bilingual publication platform with several ways to explore the same material. Readers could browse an issue, find an individual article, or open the magazine in a familiar page-turning format.
